Zumo was created by Si O'Connor & Sakis. They have been into the underground house and techno scene for the best part of 10 years and after a string of releases under other aliases since 2006 they decided to combine there skills in 2008 to create Zumo. It's a project with many musical and cultural influences from around the world whether it is house, techno, funk, disco or jazz; music in general is the real inspiration. There are so many everyday experiences that can influence music and their idea from the studio to the dance floor is to create the true party atmosphere for people to feel the vibe. Their productions are built around drum grooves and quirky rhythms fused with organic moods, a fresh forward thinking approach to the underground sound. Music to make you dance! 2009 has seen Zumo release their first cut on Hypercolour with their ‘Warped Warehouse Remix’ of Frankie Flowers’ ‘It’s Funk, It’s House’ with support from Steve Lawler, Clive Henry, Afrilounge, Boris Werner, Guy Gerber, Jussi Pekka, Ekkohause and Veroslav. With more releases to follow on the imprint including their debut album and residency at Minimal Market in the UK, 2010 promises to be a good year.
